Good Evening, Bryant Families,
Here are the messages from Bryant for this week.
Calendar
- End of Year: Field Day date change. Now, Thursday, June 11th.
- Spring Break approaches. School closed Monday, April 6-Friday, April 10.
PTO News
- Book Fair. Thank you all for participating in our Bryant Scholastic Book Fair last week.
All students received a coupon for $5 towards a book from the PTO. Due to your generous support, the PTO was able to purchase over 150 books for classroom libraries and our school library. While heavy rains on Wednesday and our snowstorm on Friday impacted likely sales, we still met our goal of $5000 in sales. Yay!
- Bryant at the Rainiers. Save the Date: May 27th
- As the days get warmer and longer, we look forward to Baseball season and our annual Rainiers School Night Out. We get to walk the field with our mascot and enjoy a great game all for only the cost of $16 dollars for admission, hotdog, water and chips. For $26 dollars you get a souvenir hat too.
- Once again, we would like to help some of our families who could not afford a night out at the stadium. Last year, we were able to help four families enjoy the game. A donation would help this year too. Order form
- March Bryant Buzz
Classroom Placement for Next School Year. Each spring, teachers, counselors, Kathryn, and I consider classroom placements for students for next year. Teachers take the lead in this process, but Kathryn and I have a vantage point that is helpful. We welcome your input. It is best to do this in a formal way and to avoid working with your child’s teacher to try to select the teacher of your preference. I have asked all teachers to hold parent requests loosely. The formal way to submit requests is to use the survey link below. The information you enter will guide teacher and administration decisions for students
- moving between houses and
- where classroom climate hinders your child.
Note: As a Montessori school, we form multi-year classrooms. The goal is to keep each child in their Children's House classroom from preschool through kindergarten, in their Lower Elementary classroom from first through third grade, and in their Upper Elementary classroom from fourth through fifth grade. Multi-grade classrooms are unique to Montessori and offer multiple benefits - and sometimes challenges. We will only move children out of their multi-grade classroom as a last resort. If you are requesting that, please know that we will look to see why you want the change and what steps you have taken to resolve the concerns. Thank you!
From the District: Supports available for all students
As a reminder, our schools have skilled counselors who can help with academic, career and social-emotional guidance. If your child needs support beyond what a counselor can offer, we also have exceptional mental health partners who provide services at schools. School counselors can assist with referrals to our partner agencies.
You can also find helpful mental health resources on our website: Mental Health Resources - Tacoma Public Schools.
That is all for tonight. Good night!
