Good Evening, Bryant Families,

Here are the messages from Bryant for this week.

Calendar Items:

• On Wednesday, November 5, at 5:30, Bryant’s Middle School will hold an informational evening for families interested in attending our middle school. Please spread the word to curious families, and if you are curious to meet our team, please come!
• Veterans’ Day falls on a Tuesday this year. The District and the Teachers’ Union set Monday, November 10^th as a non-student day. That makes November 8-11 a four day weekend for students.
• Bryant’s PTO will host its first movie night on Friday, November 14^th. More information to come, but please know that the movie will be oriented to our younger children and that we will look for adult supervision to enter the event.
• Families new to TPS should note that schools close on Wednesday through Friday for Thanksgiving. No school on 11/26-11/30.
• Further ahead, mark Friday, December 5 as a day when elementary schools are closed in Tacoma.
• Picture retakes happen on Tuesday, December 2^nd, for those who missed the chance last week.

Veterans’ Day acknowledgment. Bryant Montessori will honor Veterans’ Day this year through acts of service. We will not hold an assembly.

Staff Change. Bryant Montessori gratefully acknowledges the efforts of Ms. Amanda Hartley, who was displaced to teach at Bryant in October. Ms. Hartley has now gone on maternity leave for the remainder of the year, and we welcome Ms. Joelle Cowan to teach the seventh Lower Elementary class. (Families of children in the class, please look for my separate communication to you at 4:30.) Ms. Cowan is a fully trained Montessori teacher, and we are very fortunate to have her join our team.

PTO News.

• What a turn out! What fun! The Monster Mash was a Monster Event. Over 200 families and teachers joined us for our 4^th annual Monster Mash.  Could it get better? Great costumes, music and food as we did a Cake Walk, Pumpkin Pass, Limbo and an indoor Trunk or Treat.
• Huge shout out to all the families who helped with donations to the Cake Walk, created Trunk or Treat Bins, and helped with the event.
• We are in the last week of our flash sale for spirit wear, which ends Nov 2^nd. Order online and items will be delivered by Nov 14^th. Website Bryant Flash sale
  • We would like to get a set of bandanas for children’s house for trips. You can donate 6 dollars towards one as our goal is 70. Just click on the blue bandana picture.
  • Items will not be available after this flash sale until the spring.
• The PTO also passed two important items. We will continue to provide the $5 coupons for the book fair, and we will be supporting STEAM nights this year at the BNC.

Mark your calendar for Beyond the Bell or Club B registration 
Families of elementary and middle school students can start registering on November 3^rd.

• Session 2 details:
  • Registration runs Nov. 3 - 16 for elementary students on a staggered schedule by school name.
  • Session 2 dates: Dec. 1-Jan. 30
• Beyond the Bell activities, for students in kindergarten through 5th grade, take place from the end of the school day to 5:45 p.m., Monday-Friday. Pricing is flexible, based on your family’s need. 
• Club B activities take place after school Monday-Thursday. Club B pricing is $15 per activity.
• Please pay outstanding invoice to be eligible for session 2
  Families with outstanding invoices are now required to settle their balance in MySchoolBucks before registering for future sessions. Timely payments are essential to sustaining and enhancing these high-quality, affordable programs. 
• Help is available 
  No elementary student will be denied access due to financial need. Families can contact beyondthebell@tacomaparks.com for assistance.
