Good Evening Bryant Families,

Here are the messages from Bryant for this week.

Time change. Clocks turned back last night. Be sure to adjust for the morning.

Halloween, Candy, etc.

• Apologies: I did not providing guidance around costumes. Before Halloween next year, the staff and I will offer a unified ask of families.
• Candy. An appeal. Please don’t send it to school or allow your child to take it to school. Sugar and caffeine do not help us manage a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Snacks and nutritious meals.
  • Kudos to the MANY who prepare nutritious-looking meals for your child. In my cafeteria supervision I see concrete expressions of inspiring love. Thank you!
  • I also see children who eat “lunch” from a back of chips or snacks. These delicious snacks offer little nutrition. They do not set your child up for a good day at school. Please insist that your child get a lunch in our cafeteria and not bring a chip/snack bag to school. Thank you!

Food drive. Bryant’s annual community food drive is approaching. November 5^th - 14th, we will be collect donations for food baskets for over 45 Bryant families. Please click here for detailed information on how to donate and items needed.

Calendar Items:

  • 5:30, Bryant’s Middle School informational meeting for families interested in attending our middle school.
• Veterans’ Day falls on a Tuesday. Nov. 8-11: four-day weekend for students.
• Bryant’s PTO movie night on Friday, November 14^th. See below.
• No school on 11/26-11/30.
• Further ahead, Friday, 12/5: no school for students at Bryant: elementary AND middle school.
• Picture retakes: Tuesday, 12/2 for those who missed the chance last week.

Veterans’ Day acknowledgment. Bryant Montessori will honor Veterans’ Day this year through acts of service. We will not hold an assembly.

PTO NEWS

• As you have set your clocks back this Sunday, think of changing the batteries in clocks, smoke detectors, remotes and other equipment that require batteries. 
• Tuesday is Election Day. Fill out your ballots and sign them. Drop them off by Tuesday. There is a drop station on L St just in from 9^th across from People’s Park.
• Movie night coming on Friday, November 14th at 6pm. Bring a blanket, bring a stuffy as we watch “Wild Robot” 
  • No unaccompanied students allowed. We are looking for parents to help chaperone the event.

Breakfast, lunch available to all TPS students at no cost

All Tacoma Public Schools students can enjoy breakfast and lunch at school at no cost. These meals are provided without an application or need to qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

We share scheduling school impacts related to weather via email, calls and texts. If your phone, address or email has changed recently, please contact our office to update it.

Remember to update your emergency contacts

It’s helpful to us to have emergency contacts available for each student. When you provide emergency contact information, consider adding trusted adults (neighbors, friends) who do not live in your household. To update your emergency contacts, use ParentVUE.

Middle School students must reset computer password in November

TPS requires students in grades 6-12 to reset their password on their school-issued laptop. Students will be prompted to reset after signing into their laptop and opening an Office 365 application. 

Beyond the Bell or Club B registration 
Families of elementary and middle school students can start registering Monday.
